ONE MONTH!

I can't believe our little Brooklyn is already one month old! My how time flies. We have been doing well as we try to adjust to our family of four. The house is a littler messier then normal, there are dishes in the sink, and laundry to be folded- but life is good. Brooklyn is eating well and starting to sleep a little longer in the night! Yay! She doesn't mind tummy time and has become pretty tough as she gets smothered with love from Maylee. She is so sweet and Maylee is such a great big sis, always willing to help grab a diaper or burp rag at a moments notice!

One month stats:
Weight- 9 lbs. 15 oz (75 percentile)
Height- 22 1/2 in. (75 percentile)

Here are some pics our friend Greg took when Brooklyn was not quite 2 weeks old! I absolutely LOVE them!

Our little 2 year old!

Our sweet Maylee is now two years old! She has grown so much in the last few months.

Maylee is full of personality! She talks a lot more, loves to sing songs with actions, color, paint, run around in circles, jump, dance...pretty much anything active! She still loves to help me cook and likes to spend lots of time "talking" on the phone (which is hilarious to listen to- she'll talk, then laugh, then talk some more). She also loves going to nursery and hanging out with friends and family. She is a little shy with new people at first but then can always be their little buddy by the end of the night- it just takes her a little bit of time to warm up!

She can always make us laugh and has a great personality. She also has a tender heart- she gets sad when others are sad and always wants to make them happy. She loves to hold hands and hug her cousin Halle and gets so excited when we hang out.

Maylee truly is a great big sister. She is always the first one to notice if Brooklyn is sad or upset and always wants us to make her happy. Kisses and loves are her specialty.

It is amazing to see how much she has grown these last 2 years. We are so blessed to have her in our family!! We love you MAYLEE!

Tummy time

Brooklyn doesn't have much personal space, especially when it comes to tummy time... can you tell her sister loves her?! :)

The big 2!

Our little Maylee is growing so fast! She just had her birthday on June 6th and is now two! We had a little get-together with family to celebrate! Go figure she woke up from a nap about 30 minutes before everyone was to arrive with a little fever, but once the party started she seemed to forget. We opened a few presents, let the kids play with those for a bit, had some delicious dairy/ egg free cake and ice cream, and then finished opening the rest of the presents! She loved every single thing she got so much, that it was hard for her to want to open the next present- she just wanted to play with the one she just opened! Her birthday came at the perfect time... we are home a lot right now with Brooklyn being so little, so new toys were just what we needed. Thanks everyone! Happy Birthday Maylee! We love you!

(This play kitchen was a "not so cute blue" that Jeff repainted for her. I love that it looks like a classic, traditional kitchen now and it will look great in her room!)

First bath

Brooklyn's umbilical cord fell out when she was exactly 2 weeks old, June 9th, so goodbye sponge baths and hello tubs! The bath tub is way more fun. Brooklyn had her first real bath tonight and we had our little helper Maylee there for all the action. She was a great big help, but Brooklyn didn't last long in the tub. We put her in and she pooped in the water; we cleaned up the tub and put her back in; then she spit up everywhere; so we cleaned her up and didn't put her back in! :) Hopefully next time it is less eventful!

We sure love this new babe!

Maylee loves to hold baby Brooklyn. She is one great big sis!

Is there anything cuter than a dad and his girls (especially all snuggled up?!!) Maylee is pretty good at finding a space for her on the chair if dad is holding Brooklyn.

Baby Brooklyn is here!

Well, our new little addition is here and we are so grateful!!! I had a c-section scheduled on my due date, May 27th, but didn't quite make it that far. She came one day early- on May 26, 2010 at 3:21 in the morning! After having inconsistent contractions all weekend long, they finally became closer and stronger on Tuesday. My mom watched Maylee, and Jeff and I headed to the hospital around 5pm. I honestly thought they might send us home since I wasn't screaming in pain like they are in the movies, but we figured it was better to be safe than sorry (especially since Maylee's birth experience was so scary). After sitting in triage for a short time, they admitted us around 6pm. It was a whole new experience being wheeled into the labor and delivery room! We were excited to try for a VBAC, but were willing to do whatever necessary to get our little babe here safely. After many hours, with the little one turned slightly to the side, with the risk of a uterine rupture, and a few other complications, we decided it was best to do another cesarean. Everything went great and we have a sweet baby girl. She was 7 lbs. 15 oz and 19 in. long. We are so grateful to have her here safe and sound!
