Utah Trip

First airplane ride!
Her first set of wings... She earned them.  She was great on the plane.

Jeff went up to Utah for a week with work , so I decided to tag along with him.  We had a lot of fun.  I wandered around downtown while he worked (unfair, I know).  It was a different experience getting on and off the Trax with a baby and stroller but it sure was nice to get around without needing a car.  We went to Temple Square and the Gateway.  Over the weekend we saw grandparents.  I am so happy that we were able to get 4 generation pics with the grandparents. Maylee also got to see snow for the first time... she was quite intrigued.  All I can say is, "Sign me up for the next work trip!" :-)

My Goodwill Find...

The before...
Here is how it turned out-

The story behind the changing table-
I found this changing table at Goodwill.  I thought it had great potential and was getting tired of bending down on the floor to change Maylee's diapers!  I decided to wait one more day (until Saturday) to buy it since they mark everything another 50% off.  So on Saturday morning my mom went to buy it for us.  It was gone!  I couldn't believe it sold so quickly.  I was pretty disappointed and continued to change Maylee's diapers on the floor.

A few weeks later we stopped by again.  I went into the furniture section hoping there would be some kind of changing table that would suffice.  As I turned the corner, there sat the changing table!  It was marked down to $30.  I was thrilled, but again- I didn't want to pay full price when I could wait one more day and get it half off.  I took the risk of it being gone and waited.  That Saturday we checked to see if it was there.  Of course, it was.  I am quite happy with my new changing table that only cost $15!  I love it!

Run, Run, Run!

Jeff and Rob are training for the half marathon and I am training for the 5K in Sedona, AZ.  It is a very hilly course so we have been running on South Mountain... the only place in Phoenix with hills.  It is fun to run on the mountain and enjoy the peaceful desert - we even saw a coyote!

We got the jogging stroller for Christmas and have been getting good use out of it lately!  Maylee is a good sport to come along for the ride.  She likes to look around and listen to the tunes (the stroller has built in speakers for the i-pod).

These are the pictures I took as I waited for them to finish their 11 mile run... I had some time to spare since I went 5.

1st Christmas!

Our little lady celebrated her first Christmas!  She loved it!  She went crazy for every new toy- legs moving, hands shaking, smiling the whole time.  She did well (as you can see in the pictures)- she got fun toys that light up, sing, or make noise (yea!) and some cute books.

My mom made her pajamas-  It is a tradition to get flannel pajamas on Christmas Eve so my mom even made some matching pajamas for the babies!

More Holiday Pictures...

(When we took this picture of Maylee I wanted to do it in black and white with a touch of red... I got to give credit to Jeff for finally doing it.  I love it!)

Temple lights

The weekend before Christmas, Jeff and I took Maylee to see the temple lights.  We thought about calling friends/family to go with us, but figured most people already had plans since we decided last mintue- so we headed out on our own.  To add to the evening we went to, the one-and-only, Cafe Rio (anytime we are out in the east valley we love to eat there!)  As we were eating, Jeff looked up and said, "Heidi, you won't believe who just walked in".  Into Cafe Rio walked Rob, April, and the kiddos!  They decided to go to the temple lights last minute as well!  What are the chances?!  We had a fun time looking at the lights and had the extra bonus of being with family! (Another plus- they could take pictures for us!)
