The past few weeks...

Children's Museum of Phoenix

A few weeks ago, we went to the Children's Museum.  Our libraries have something called the Culture Pass, and with it you can get 4 people into the different museums for FREE!  The hard part is getting the pass... they are quite popular, so I was excited to get this one.  I had heard it was fun, but I didn't know if Maylee would really enjoy it.  After looking at the pictures I think you can see that she had a good time!  It was all about imaginative play.  They had flowers you could pick, a "grocery store" to buy items, and a special play area for kiddos under 2.  Maylee was in heaven there!  Hopefully I will be able to get the pass again. :)

The Car
Lately, Maylee has loved playing on her "car".  It is one of those walker things that can also be turned into a car.  I bought it awhile ago thinking she would like to walk with it, but she LOVES cruising around with it as a car a little more.  Only problem: she can only make it go in reverse for now. ;)

Grammie and Poppa visit

Kim and Bary came down the weekend of the 15th to visit.  It had been a few months since they had last seen Maylee and she had changed so much.  It was fun to have them see her in action.  On Saturday, we went down to the Tuscon area and saw the Saguaro National Park.  It was a little hot, so we did more sight-seeing from the car than hiking but we did get out and braved the heat for one short nature hike.  Maylee sure loved her Grammie and Poppa.  She was so bored when I was the only one around for her to play with when they left.

Museum of Natural History

I was able to get another Culture Pass from the library to The Museum of Natural History.  The museums are cool, but they are awesome when you can get in for free!  This one was not as "hands on" as the Children's Museum, but was still worth the visit.  Unfortunately there was a school group there, so it was a little crowded... those dang field trips! (I must admit, it did make me miss teaching!  Just for a minute anyway!)
